4th June 2013
Windsurfing: Felixstowe dip
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: F4-5
Surf / Sea State: flat to swell
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: cool
Weather: Sunny
Max Speed: 25.77 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 22.8 nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Few out at 3 when I arrived, windier than yesterday but looked great. flattish on the inside with large swell near the channel marker. Rigged 7.2 Helcat/120L pro excite ride was spot on. Followed 2 speedsters over to the flat river mouth, but that was a disaster, so wont do that again! My 44cm fin is now ruined as I grounded out 4 times, 2 over the top breaking the boom front collar. Lucky thing it stayed in position so I could rope it. Too much faff for me, with rip tide, no wind and shallow water!
Went back out to sea and had a great time burning up with Swainey Squiz and Maker. Switched to Pryde H2 6.7M which is another brilliant sail. It kept pace with 7-to 8.5M sails in F4, rough water on the outside, and I was in full control, and could sail allday, so will be going underpowered more often for comfort.
Gybing off the swell was cool, and only dropped a few gybes. Catapulting off a lobster pot and the speed strip knackered 44 MFC liquid pro fin. Best speed on open sea 25.77 (didn't try in the shallow water of the speed strip) Great day though, another 5*****
